Mission
To offer flexible opportunities for adolescents and adults in our community, who find themselves in need of employment and/or academic training. Our program is designed as a road map toward attaining a GED certificate. This certificate of completion is quite important when considering the present state of today’s economy, and job market. The GED is recognized as one of the key documents necessary for attending college as well as attaining viable employment.
GED Preparatory Program
WorkforceSkills™ Training Center (WSTC) has added GED preparation classes to its repertoire of strategic solutions for enhancing employment education. The class readies the students to prepare for and successfully complete the GED examination in all the subject matter areas. Our classroom environment re-integrates its members into a semi formal school setting and focuses on the positive completion of job well done. We are professionally partnered with the College of Lake County, and our preparation classes graduate with the colleges’ regular students at the Grayslake Facility. Our classroom is a community within itself. It is a safe place to learn and if the student will commit, we will insure the rest. We are a house of learning, friendship, growth, and cooperation. We will inspire each other to achieve at the highest level necessary to attain their individual dreams and aspirations. Success is the only option. Our goal is not only teach to them how, but to instill in them the “why” concept of self production. Through this process, self-awareness will lead to self-management.
Our role at WSTC GED Preparatory program is to establish, and maintain a well educated, confident workforce that will stimulate economic growth within our community. “If we teach them, they will lead the way.” Though our beginning was insignificant our end will be greatly increased through commitment and dedication.
We offer a flexible and creative scheduling package which allows for our clients’ individual needs. It allows us to luxury of meeting our client’s needs in the AM, PM, or in the afternoon. We offer intermediate as well as basic skill instruction.
